Project Description:



The task was interesting - to create a workplace, a horizontal working area with a single vertical support.

Workplaces should have been located on both sides of the bearing wall. The place was designed for one person with a laptop or two people who are in rapid negotiations - the outside dimensions are 800 x 650 x 80 mm.

It was decided to use two materials - a bearing, 10-mm metal, and for the worktop - a custom made concrete slab.

Задача была интересно - создать рабочее место, горизонтальную рабочую площадь с одной несущей вертикальной опорой.

Рабочие места должны были быть расположены по обе стороны от несущей стены. Место было рассчитано на одного человека с ноутбуком или на двух людей, ведущих быстрые переговоры - габариты по внешним сторонам 800 x 650 х 80 мм.

Было решено использовать два материала - несущий, 10-мм металл, а на роль столешницы - бетонную плиту, выполненную под заказ.

The metal construction had the form of a Cyrillic letter "G" (Г in Russian) and was attached to two chemical anchors with a small side to the wall. We also let the diagonal in order to maintain the rigidity of the structure.

The chemical anchor works according to the principle of area capture:
– the drilled hole in the wall is filled with chemical composition

– anchor is driven into the hole of the metal structure directly into the filled hole of the wall

– the chemical composition is fixed not only between the walls of the hole and the fastening element-anchor, but also fills any planes and cracks with which it contacts

– the result is a mounting area larger than the area of the hole

Worktop was made out of concrete with internal reinforcement. The ground surface was covered with a waxed composition, which gave a different tactile effect.

The table top is placed on the console platform, fixed with rubber glue applied in advance.

The total weight of the console is ~ 150 kg, but modern building technologies in the field of chemistry allow to sustain such weight on two fasteners. And even more than that, people are allowed to stand on the countertop without fear of collapse of the structure and wall on which it is fixed.
